Rahul Chakkara, Controller TV Platforms is responsible for all new media products and services on various TV platforms including emerging IPTV platforms. He provides leadership to the product team who design, engineer, test and deliver these products and services in the BBC. Rahul is responsible for the leadership of the BBC Red Button service which reaches more than 10 million adults on a weekly basis, and delivers popular interactive television services like Wimbledon, Formula 1, CBeebies etc. He is also responsible for delivering BBC iPlayer on TVs e.g BBC iPlayer on Virgin Media which has received more than 200 million views since launch. Rahul chairs the TV Platforms Steering Group, which governs all new media products, services and technologies on television in BBC. Rahul Chakkara was the launch Creative Director of the BBC iPlayer on the PC in 2007. Rahul joined the BBC from NDS Ltd.  Previously, he was at Procter & Gamble.
